Jeremy Dicker

Former diplomat in Mexico CityLos Angeles, and Lima. Spanish speaker. Awarded Peru’s Presidential Medal for Distinguished Service for… well, distinguished service.

Baby lawyer to diplomat

I began my career as a young lawyer with the United Nations in the Pacific Islands. After getting a feel for that, I decided to challenge myself once more and join the foreign service, embarking on a 14-year rollercoaster that took me on tours through Mexico, Peru, Australia, the US and more. I still stretch my Spanish muscles by recapping our daily editions into a weekly Spanish newsletter, and at my local taco spot to order dos mas cervezas, por favor.

Two fun facts

While serving in Lima, Peru’s president awarded me the country’s medal for distinguished service. That same president is now facing corruption charges, but I promise you these two facts are unrelated.
